Fred J. Campbell

Fred J. Campbell, 83, of Warren County, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2017, in his home, after a long courageous battle with liver cancer.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 24, at 7:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home with Pastor Debbie Eisele. Interment will be private.

Fred was born on June 30, 1934, in Warren County, son of the late Aubrey Wood Campbell and Mary Louise Williams Campbell. He had worked for Avtex Fibers, Marumsco Plumbing and Heating, Wines Construction, and Stout Excavating. Fred was always at his wood pile and gave love to his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by many!

Surviving are his wife Minnie Sue Cameron Campbell; one son Shannon Heinlen Campbell and wife Debbie of Kokomo, IN; one daughter Vicki Mahoney and husband Jerry of Luray; four brothers Giles Campbell of Fredericksburg, Franky Campbell of Chester Gap, Harold Campbell of Front Royal, and Russell Campbell of Stephens City; three sisters Mary Lou Thomas of Front Royal, Etta Call of Amissville, and Polly Richards of Chester Gap; He was the proud grandfather of Chris, Shannah, Brittany, and Destine Heinlen, Alex Harmon and Vicky Campbell, BJ and Krissy Dodson, Mike Campbell, Jerry, Jr. and David Mahoney, and Pvt. Campbell, Shaun; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Fred was preceded in death by a son Michael Ray Campbell.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
