On December 23, 2016 at the age of 95, our dear mother and granny fell asleep in death. She was born on March 8, 1921 in Front Royal, Virginia to Joseph Nathaniel Ralls and Lena Virginia Alexander Ralls.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 30, at 11:00 a.m. at Maddox Funeral Home with Bill Jenkins officiating. Interment will be private at the Willis Chapel Cemetery in Huntly, Virginia

Gladys is survived by a daughter Mary Ellen (Bill); son Jimmy (Vickie); granddaughters Cindy (Ricky) and Tammy (Rickie); grandsons Randy and Robbie; great granddaughters Ashley (Michael) and Melissa; great-great granddaughters Autumn and Natalie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Gladys was preceded in death by her brother Ernest and sister Mary, son Gardner (Betty) and husbands Russell Williams and James Rutherford.

Gladys was a hard worker all her life, taking such great care of her family, working at Royal Palace Cleaners and later the Aileen Sewing Factory.

For the past 35 years after her bible study, dedication, and baptism, she became one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and thoroughly enjoyed sharing scriptures from the bible giving hope and comfort to her neighbors. She will be sadly missed by her family and her spiritual brothers and sisters.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 29 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Randy, Robbie, Michael, Randy Jenkins, Gregory Pullen, and Tommy Woodward.

Memorial contributions may be made the Front Royal Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah Witnesses.
