Harry Thomas Tyson, 73, of Strasburg, VA, died on Thursday, August 31, 2017.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 6, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home followed by a funeral service at 2:00. Burial will follow in Panorama Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Tyson was born May 5, 1944 in Washington, D.C., son of the late Morris and Dorothy Beckert Tyson. He retired as a painter.

Surviving are his companion Shirley Childress of Strasburg, VA; two sons Harry Thomas Tyson, Jr. of Edinburg, VA and Thomas Patrick Tyson of Strasburg; one brother Morris Tyson of Maryland; four grandchildren ; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother Robert Tyson.
