James F. Pezalla, 83, of Front Royal, Virginia passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at his residence.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 22, 2016 from 6 to 8 PM at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 West Main Street, Front Royal. Burial will take place at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.

Mr. Pezalla was born on March 6, 1933 in Lisbon, North Dakota to the late Leonard Peter Pezalla and Uarda Wands Chisman Pezalla. He was also preceded in death by his first wife Marie V. Pezalla.

He retired after 30 years as a Senior Chief from the United States Navy in 1980.

Survivors include his wife, Nita Vaughan Pezalla of Front Royal; two daughters, Karen F. Fried and Sharon K. Buehler both of Front Royal; step daughter, Tenyce L. Barton of Front Royal; two grandchildren, William L. Buehler and Veronica L. Buehler; step granddaughter, Alyssa McCune; one great grandson, William W. Buehler and his beloved dog, Mary.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
