Jefrey Hastings Cox, 56, of Front Royal, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at Inova Fairfax Hospital as a result of traumatic brain injury following a motorcycle accident.

Services will be private and a celebration of life gathering will be held at a later date.

Jef was born April 6, 1967, in Alexandria, Virginia, son of the late James Howard Cox, Jr. and Carolyn Whitaker Cox.

Surviving is a son, Andrew Hickman of Mentor, Ohio, daughter, Kristal Cox of Woodbridge; brother, James Howard Cox, III of Cooperstown, North Dakota; two sisters, Kelly Alzaharna of Elk Garden, West Virginia, and Connie Esau of Springfield; grandson, Jamie Pfeffer; and Jef’s long-time companion, Gaye Sauvager of Front Royal.

Memories of his favorite past times include roller skating, listening to 80’s music, and any project involving vehicles or tools. He had a soft spot for the underdog and his kittens had him wrapped around their paws.
