John G. Lake, Jr. 60, of Front Royal, Virginia passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at INOVA Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, Virginia.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at 11 AM at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 West Main Street, Front Royal with Pastor Danny Clegg officiating. Burial will follow at Panorama Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Lake was born on December 25, 1957 in Front Royal to the late John G. Lake, Sr. and Carrie “Peggy” Riley Lake. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Joanne Weaver Lake.

He operated machinery for John Lake Paving Company for 32 years.

Survivors include his wife, Penny Marie Stanley Lake; two sons, John Lake III (Jeaneth) and Jonathan Weaver; step daughter, Candy Allen; three brothers, Joseph, Robert and Frank Lake; two sisters, Sheila Rush and Wanda Settle; four grandchildren, John Lake IV, Alexis Lake, Sarah Terry and James Powell, Jr. and his beloved dog, Angel.

Pallbearers will be John Lake III, Jonathan Weaver, Robert Lake, Joseph Lake, Franklin Lake and William Settle, Jr.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Billy Settle, John Settle, Paul Rush III, Wayne Lake and Adam Dooley.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
