Joseph Anthony “Tony” Stevens, 84, of Winchester, Virginia and formerly of Owings, Maryland passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2025 at Lynn Care Center in Front Royal, Virginia.

Mr. Stevens was born on December 28, 1940 in Washington, DC to the late Winter and Helen Van Ryswick Stevens.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Carol Schaffer Stevens; two brothers, James Michael Stevens Sr. and Daniel Stevens; and his sister, Judith Ann MacIndoe.

He retired from security and investigations with the State Department and was a veteran of the United States Army.

Survivors include his granddaughter, Kathleen Watt; great-grandson, Jaxson Watt; brother-in-law, Colin MacIndoe; sister-in-law, Beverly Stevens; two nephews, James Michael Stevens Jr. (Anita) and Thomas Stevens (Lisa) and niece, Susan Miller (Tony).
