Mrs Hamer taught 2 of my children great teacher
I still remember when she would visit the old home place on Criser Road. I was a young girl and I can still hear her infectious laugh calling my mothers name “Phyllis”. Rest in peace sweet lady.
Very good math teacher and nice lady !
Sorry to learn of Mrs. Hamer’s passing. Had her as a teacher. She was the greatest!
My heart is broken 😞. You were my favorite teacher who I had the most respect for. You taught meet so much, you were old school and strict. It was a pleasure having you for a teacher. I love you and you will be deeply missed ❤️😭
I am aWCHS51 classmate of Joyce’s. I recall the joy that Joyce brought to all of our class. She will be remembered as the number one student support to Mr. James Duff’s superintendent office. . Over the succeeding years Joyce was a delight for our class reunions. The last she attended was just before the pandemic started. And she was just as cheerful and outgoing as ever . May her family rejoice in Joyce’s fine career and familyhood. We the Class of WCHS51 does. Regards John Guy
Just read of Mrs. Hamer’s passing. Her husband Marshall was my advisor at RMA for four years. I adored both of them. Mrs Hamer was also so kind and calm at a time when R-MA was a challenge. She even tutored me in math in the dining hall after dinner my senior year. I remember that year I got on the honor roll for the first time.
The expression is true, “it doesn’t matter what someone says or what someone does, what you remember is how someone made you feel.” I was always have fond feelings and memories of Colonel and Mrs. Hamer
