Kyle Wade Shelton, 34 of Browntown, VA passed away on Monday February 19, 2024.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 24, at 2:00 – 4:00pm at Browntown Baptist Church Fellowship Hall with a meal following. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am at Prospect Hill Cemetery on Monday February 26, 2024.
Kyle was born on December 18, 1989 in Front Royal, VA, son of Amelia Poe Proffitt and Zack Richard Shelton, Sr. and Zack’s wife, Lua Shelton.
Kyle attended Warren County High School. He was a car enthusiast and loved to work on cars any chance he got. He adored his nephews and loved to play football or baseball with them. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, and grandson. Kyle was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He grew up attending Browntown Baptist Church where he was a member of the youth group, participated in numerous Christmas plays, and attended Bible school each summer. He would do anything to protect his loved ones and friends. The loss of Kyle’s life leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him.
Surviving are his parents, Amelia “Amy” Poe Proffitt of Browntown, VA and Zack Richard Shelton, Sr. and his wife, Lua Shelton of Yadkinville, NC; two brothers, Zack Shelton and his wife, Caitlyn of Bentonville, VA and Blaine Shelton of Browntown, VA. One sister, Kendra Corey and her wife, Georgia of Herndon, VA and three nephews whom he adored, Rylan Shelton, Reed Shelton, and Walker Corey. He is also survived by his loving grandmother, Berniece Poe of Front Royal, VA.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Kenneth A. Poe and a close friend, Brendon Sullins.

Amy & family I just want say he was a great guy and I’m so glad I got to know him. I’m sure Brendon was there with others to meet him .

I was lucky to share my childhood with Kyle and to see him grow into a smart, kind and loving young man. He truly cherished his family as they cherished him. I hope all who loved him can take some solace in knowing that they brought so much to his life. These bonds can never break, and he is with us always. Amy, Berneice, Zack, Blaine and sweet Kendra: I love you all so much and am keeping you in my thoughts.
Kyle, I still remember kindergarten days with you. I remember being your “top of the slide bride” at recess at elementary school. LOL I remember you marking my dress with red lipstick you took from another friend of ours when I said I couldn’t be your slide bride anymore haha. It doesn’t seem like that long ago! You had a good heart Kyle, with good intentions. You never meant harm towards anyone and loved your friends and brothers endlessly. I know you’d suit up anyday for Blaine and Zack. You will be so missed. Rest in peace my friend.
Kyle was a pure soul. He had battle some demons in his life but his heart was pure gold. He will be sorely missed by all those who knew him. Praying that he is at peace and for strength for the family. Love you all.

Kyle was a great guy…we here at unlimited welding appreciated his time with the company…he was a hard worker and he will be missed. Praying kyles family and loved ones will find comfort in the days to follow.
