Lee O’Ferrall “Boog” Wines

Lee O’Ferrall “Boog” Wines, 87, of Bentonville, Virginia passed away suddenly on Tuesday, August 14, 2018, at his home.

A funeral service will be conducted on Monday, August 20 at 11:00 a.m. at Maddox Funeral Home with Sammy Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in Panorama Memorial Gardens at Waterlic with military honors provided by the Winchester VFW Post 2123.

Boog was born on April 10, 1931, at home son of the late Samuel Burrell Wines, Sr. and Anna Lee Lockhart Wines. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean War and received the Silver Star and Bronze Star medals. He retired from the Avtex Fibers, Inc. and after retirement he worked as a security guard for RAC Security in Middleburg.

Surviving are his devoted wife of sixty years Ramona “Monnie” McLean Wines; one son Carlton Wines and wife Tammy of Bentonville; two daughters Susan Pomeroy and husband Roger “Buddy” Pomeroy of Gerrardstown, West Virginia and Stacy Meadows and fiancé’ David of Bentonville; one brother Robert Cook and longtime companion Susie of Bentonville; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; his special caregiver Dawn Owens who brought such great care to him in his final months; and his longtime and dear friend Wayne Mathews.

Boog was preceded in death by his parents, a son Charles “Bob” Wines and two brothers Samuel Wines, Jr. and Ronald Wines.

Pallbearers will be Buddy Pomeroy, Cody Mathews, Dakota Wines, Mike Wilson, Danny Cook and Wayne Mathews.

Honorary pallbearers will be Shane Cook, Teddy Cook, Will Crawford and David Valentine.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, Aug 19 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
