Melvin L. Wright, Sr. of Front Royal, Virginia passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2016 at his home.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 13, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 West Main Street, Front Royal with Rev. Bradley F. Thorne officiating. Burial will follow at Stonewall Memory Gardens in Manassas, Virginia with military honors.

He was born on December 16, 1945 in Delaplane, Virginia to the late Pershing and Elizabeth Wright and has been a lifetime resident of the Northern Virginia area.

Mr. Wright was a tree expert with Asplundh Tree Services, a US Army Vietnam Veteran, an avid trout fisherman and pool player.

Survivors include his three daughters, Sherry D. Braithwaite of Front Royal, Angela Tiller of Hedgesville, West Virginia, Brandy L. Brown of Front Royal; two sons, Melvin L. Wright, Jr. of Warrenton, Virginia and James Alan Wright of Front Royal; two sisters, Pauline Wright of Stephenson, Virginia, Daisy Wright of Romney, West Virginia; three brothers, Randy Wright of Stephenson, Virginia, Allen Baker of Chantilly, Virginia, Ronnie L. Wright of Remington, Virginia; eleven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, June 12, 2016 from 6 to 8 PM.

Pallbearers will be Bobby L. Hicks, James A. Wright, Jr., Berry D. Smith, Jr., David Zinn, Randle Wright and J.E. Wright.
