Samuel Tilden Updike, 97, of Front Royal, Virginia passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at his home.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 15, 2024 at 11:30 AM at Prospect Hill Cemetery with Sammy Campbell officiating.

Mr. Updike was born on December 2, 1926 in Browntown, Virginia to the late Fred and Pauline Matthews Updike.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Deavers Updike; brother, George Updike and two sisters, Geraldine Mountjoy and Maxine Curry.  He was a foreman for Northern Counties Lumber company for many years and built many homes all around the Northern Virginia area and locally.  He was a veteran of the United States Army in the Second Infantry.

Survivors include his nephew, Mike Mountjoy and extended close family, Judy Hupman, Roxanne Campbell and Kellie Campbell.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 15, 2024 from 10 to 11 AM at Maddox Funeral Home.
