Shelby Thompson Warrick, 72, of Front Royal, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 in her home.
A celebration of Shelby’s life will be conducted on Tuesday, July 5, at 4:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home with Dr. R. Mark Jordon officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date.
Shelby was born on August 13, 1943, in the Thompson family home at the Valley Mill Farm in Paris, VA, daughter of the late Marjorie Thompson.
Shelby attended the Fauquier County Public Schools.
She was previously married to Albert Thompson Warrick, together they had three children, before divorcing in 1981.
She was an employee of Martin’s in Front Royal as the floral manager for many years, as well as Front of the House manager for Dean’s Steakhouse. Shelby attended the First Baptist Church in Front Royal. Shelby was known and well respected for her civic activities in our community. She was a charter member of the Linden Rotary Club, the master gardening program in Front Royal, the Warren Heritage Society, a Girl Scout leader in her earlier years and was always a big supporter of the Warren County Humane Society.
Surviving are a daughter Beverly Warrick and husband Barry Tafraoui of Front Royal; two sons Ed Warrick and wife Marion Frazier of Arlington, and Vincent Warrick and wife Gwynn Johns of Luray; five grandchildren, Bella Frazier Warrick, Declan Frazier Warrick, Bianka Warrick, Leahnesse Warrick, and Julian Warrick; and a dear friend and family member, Mary Lee Warrick of Front Royal.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 5, from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
All are welcome to join the family for a time of food and fellowship at the First Baptist fellowship hall, following the service.
