On Wednesday, June 11 2025, Virginia V. “Ginny” Rutter passed away in Strasburg, Virginia, Shenandoah County. In the presence of her two daughters, Virginia slipped from this world to rejoin all her beloveds.

Preceded in death by her ex-husband, George W. Rutter, her father and mother, Ennis A. and Irene S.; and her older brother Ennis A, Jr.

Virginia is survived by her two daughters, Laura K. Rutter-Call (Tom) of Shenandoah Co. and Hollis E. Raffaele (Pat) of Fairfax Co, and younger sister Kathryn Miller of Texas.

Virginia lived life her way, surrounded by so many loving dogs (poodles, golden retrievers, and a Pomeranian). Virginia was a confirmation show handler and established breeder of golden retrievers through Lochvier Kennels, a dog trainer, a veterinary assistant, and advocate for all animals.

Virginia is deeply loved and missed by all those whose lives she touched.
