Waverly “W.J.” Bailey, 84, of Front Royal, Virginia passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, Virginia.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 15, 2024 at 2 PM at Panorama Memorial Gardens, 4917 Strasburg Road, Strasburg, Virginia.

Mr. Bailey was born on June 16, 1939 in Remington, Virginia to the late Melvin M. Bailey and Nina Dyer Grimes.  He was also preceded in death by his son, Avery Bailey; grandson, Tyler Bailey and two brothers, Melvin Bailey Jr. and Morris Bailey.  He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in Vietnam.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Catherine Owens Bailey; three sons, Billy Bailey, Troy Bailey and Don Bailey; sister, Shirley Swann; thirteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
