Perry C. Snipes Sr., 86, of Bentonville, Virginia passed away on Tuesday, October 04, 2016 at his residence.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 7, 2016 at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 West Main Street, Front Royal, Virginia at 11:00 AM with Sammy Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Bentonville Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Snipes was born on November 30, 1929 in Pelham, Georgia to the late William and Bettie Pollock Snipes. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Edward Snipes and two sisters, Von Snipes and Maxine Culpepper.

He was a high voltage electrician working 35 years with Avtex and five years with Ogden Allied. He was a member of the American Legion and a US Navy veteran.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Sarah Lou Barbee Snipes; son, Perry C. Snipes, Jr. and his wife Dawn; two daughters, Amanda Snipes and Betty Kohn and her companion Michael Lockhart; brother, Sam Pollock; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Wertz, Roy Jenkins, Ike Shenk, Jerry Perry, Randy Coffman and Jimmy Kohn.
Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Howard “Zipper” Snipes, Perry Snipes III, Quinton Seal, David Snipes, Erick Kohn and Sarah Kohn.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
