Amber Gail Lester, 86, of Huntley Virginia, passed away December 28, 2023.  She was a resident of Commonwealth Senior Living in Front Royal, Virginia at that time.

Mrs. Lester was born October 9, 1937 to the late Frederick and Nelle Amber Winstel. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard D. Lester; and her sister, Carol Thomson.

Mrs. Lester is survived by her four children, Amy Lester Parson of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Jeffrey H. Lester of Roanoke, Virginia, Scott F. Lester of Huntley, Virginia, and Paul F. Lester of Kintnersville, Pennsylvania. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Chelsea, Austin, Kayla, Richard, Christoher, Jessica, Evan and Tabitha Lester and Alyssa Parson Menold; as well as four great-grandchildren.

Amber Gail was a proud graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. She was fond of singing the school’s fight song and liked to wear her Pitt jacket. She was an avid traveler and was able to make numerous friends from different countries. She loved to read and was particularly fond of mysteries.  She liked to garden, especially flowers.

Amber Gail was kind, patient, thoughtful, loving and decent . . . all the way through.
