Melvin Eugene Funkhouser, 61, of Front Royal, VA died on Saturday, November 14, 2015 in Winchester, VA.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 18 at 4:00 p.m. at St. Luke Brethren Church, 3250 Back Rd., Woodstock, VA conducted by Pastor Freddy Helsley.

Mr. Funkhouser was born January 21, 1954 in Edinburg, VA son of the late James and Murial Hottle Funkhouser. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and retired from COSTCO.

Surviving are his wife Frances Renae Funkhouser; four children Melvin Funkhouser, Jr., Jamie Funkhouser, Stacie Athey, and Sherry Cairns; four brothers Jerry Funkhouser, Gary Funkhouser, Greg Funkhouser, and Junior Funkhouser; one sister Cheryl Funkhouser; and four grandchildren.
