Walter H. “Bobby” Williams, III, 74, of Chester Gap, VA, passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at his home.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 17, at 2:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home conducted by Pastor Jim Williams. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery.

Bobby was born November 24, 1940 in Warren County, VA, son of the late Walter H. Williams, Jr. and Hannah M. Pearson Williams.

He was a U. S. Army veteran serving his country between 1960 and 1966.

He retired as a carpenter from Carpenters Union Local 2033. Bobby was a member of American Legion Post 53 and Front Royal Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 829.

He was married to the late Alice Virginia Williams.

Surviving are his children Rodney Williams and wife Cathy of Browntown, Tammy Walter of Front Royal; step- son Ricky Gordon and wife Linda of Front Royal; one sister Louise Mathews and husband Jerry of Browntown; two brothers Jimmy Williams and wife Jane and Timmy Williams all of Chester Gap; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Craig Williams, Kevin Williams, Tommy Williams, Hunter Williams, Jeffrey Williams, and Ricky Gordon, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Rick Mathews and Ken Mathews.

The family will receive friends on Monday, November 16, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
