Ida May Pruitt, 74, of Front Royal, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday December 10, 2024 at Lynn Care Center with her daughters by her side.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday December 17 at 11:00 a.m. in Panorama Memorial Gardens with Sammy Campbell officiating.
Mrs. Pruitt was born December 21, 1949 in Alexandria, Virginia, daughter of the late Everett Aster and Lucy Ann Claytor Thacker. After her mother passed away at a young age, Ida and her brother were raised by their maternal grandparents. Otha Frank and Ida Virginia Claytor, whom she loved dearly. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Everett Lee Thacker and a grandson, Randy Kaleb Deavers.
Ida loved all things Jesus. She was a member of Shenandoah Baptist Church for several years. While Jesus was her cornerstone, her grandchildren made up the remainder of her world. She was an avid crafter who loved to make quilts, paint and draw.
Ida leaves behind two sons, David Honaker, Jr. (Debra) of Stephens City and Douglas Honaker (Lynda) of Front Royal; two daughters, Patricia Bain (David) of Front Royal and Tanya Deavers (Wesley) of Browntown; nine grandchildren, Don Smelser, Samantha, Stephanie, Synthia, Shannon and Eddie Bain, Aaron Carroll, Jacob Deavers and Katelynn Honaker; 10 great-grandchildren, Hunter, Adalynn, Anastasia, Aubrey, Caiden and Amiyah Carroll, Levi and Benjamin Held, Kalee and Madison Bain; as well as friend and sister-in-law of 55 years, Joyce Pruitt.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.

My beautiful sister -in-law you have gone to meet Jesus and you will be missed by everyone you left behind
