William Denver “Denny” Blake, 66, departed this life on May 15, 2025 with family by his side. He was a longtime resident of Front Royal.
William was born in Frederick, Maryland on July 2, 1958, son of the late William Curtis “Bill” Blake and Betty Jean Blake.
Surviving is his wife of 35 years, Corinne “Susie” Blake of Front Royal; sons, Christopher Blake and wife Kimberly of Apopka, Florida and Keith Blake of Strasburg, Virginia; step-son, Adam McCauley and wife Melissa of Toms Brook, Virginia; sister, Laura Mitchell and husband Doug of Berryville, Virginia; brothers, Mike Blake of Front Royal and Jeff Blake and wife Shari of Front Royal; five grandchildren, Drewbella Blake, Sydney Blake, Adelyn Blake, Alexis Blake and Jaxston Blake; and many special cousins, nieces and nephews.
William was a Union Millwright, Instructor of his trade, experienced welder and loved using his fabrication skills to make one-of-a-kind pieces. Teaching at the training center and working with students was a special time for him.
William served for several years on the board of the Shenandoah Shores Property Owners Association. Serving on the water and road committees as well as the President. Showing his love for the Shenandoah River, he encouraged only gravel to be used in the winter to treat the roadways during his time as president. Trying to keep contaminants out of the river shed was very important to him.
Fishing and being on the water was a favorite always. William was a lover of all kinds of music. He enjoyed playing his guitars and played bass with bands in his younger days. A ride on his Harley always made his day.
“Denny” as he was called by most, also loved gardening. Awesome vegetables were shared with family, friends or anyone who walked by.
A longtime fan of the former Washington Redskins football team, now the “Commanders”, he attended many games with family and friends over the years.
Denny had requested no services.
He will be missed by all who knew him and loved him.
