Jane W. Cary died in Winchester on March 4, 2016. She was 93.

A Front Royal native, she was the daughter of Blackwell and Addie (nee Simpson) Cary.

Smart, stylish and self-reliant, Jane worked for many years as a magazine editor in New York City, a place she loved.

There are no immediate survivors; her brother Robin died in 2008.

Per her wishes, there will be no funeral service, and her ashes will be interred in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
