Linda G. Thompson

Linda G. Thompson, 73, of Front Royal, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 21, 2016, at the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 29, at 11:00 a.m. at Maddox Funeral Home with Sammy Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in the Prospect Hill Cemetery.

Linda was born on May 31, 1942 in Front Royal in the old Johnson Nursing Home, daughter of the late James Compton and Nellie Virginia Horton Compton Johnson.

Linda retired from Warren Memorial Hospital after many dedicated years of service. She enjoyed reading, watching movies, and was truly a movie buff, there weren’t too many movies you could stump her on. Linda was an avid quilt maker and made many beautiful quilts for family and friends. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. She was married to the late George W. Thompson, Sr.

Surviving are two daughters Sherry Sours (Kenny) of Front Royal and Becky Tharp (Russell) of Front Royal; one son Mark Teabo (Heidi) of Front Royal; step-children Bill Thompson, Chuck Thompson, Mike Thompson, Cheryl Stone all of Nevada and Tom Thompson (Betty) of Front Royal; two granddaughters Tina Taylor and Paige Teabo and many other grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren; She is also survived by her faithful companion Cobalt her cat.

Linda was preceded in death by a daughter Connie S. Teabo.

Pallbearers will be Russell Tharp, John Taylor, Nicholas Sours, Darick Thompson, Chuck Thompson, and Bill Thompson.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Kenny Sours and Tom Thompson.

The family will receive friends on Monday, March 28, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
