John Dalton Willingham, Jr., 71, of Warren County, passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2016 in his home.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 26, at 2:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home with Pastor Steven Schetrom officiating. Interment will follow in the Prospect Hill Cemetery with military honors.
John was born on January 29, 1945, in Front Royal, son of the late John Dalton Willingham, Sr. and Pearl Lee Updike Willingham.
John was a U.S. Army veteran having served during the Vietnam era. He worked many years for Avtex Fibers until its closing and retired as a trucker from Rappawan and Git-R-Done Trucking.
Surviving are two daughters Gail Addison (John) and Ashley Willingham (Rodney); one brother Dennis “Gene” Willingham (Carolyn); one sister Lois Whitehead (Allen); three grandchildren Kaelyn Willingham-Beran, Michael Addison and Johnny Addison; one great granddaughter Serenity Addison; and several nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by a brother Donald Willingham.
Pallbearers will be Gail Addison, Ashley Willingham, John Addison, Johnny Addison, Greg Willingham and Rodney Torp.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 25, from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
