William Ronnie Clegg

IMG_6498 (2)William Ronnie Clegg, 65, of Browntown, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2016, at the University of Charlottesville Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 2, at 2:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home with Sammy Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in the Panorama Memorial Gardens at Waterlick.

Ronnie was born at home in Browntown, on January 28, 1951, son of the late Ulysses Jackson “Sonny” Clegg and Geraldine Elizabeth Henry Clegg. He worked most of his life as a painter for the union at the Minte Company and later worked for the last six years for ATF-Security at Customs. Ronnie was a member of the Woodstock Moose Lodge # 575. His quick wit and laughter will truly be missed by all his family and many friends and especially the former classmates of the B.T.U..

Surviving are his wife of 44 years Elsie Marie Clegg; one son Ronnie Lynn Clegg and wife Deborah of Browntown; one daughter Shelly Elizabeth Waters and husband Dwayne of Front Royal; three brothers Howard Clegg of Westminster, Maryland, Bobby Clegg of Front Royal, and Ray Clegg of California, five sisters Shirley Ann Highlands of Maryland, Katherine Cropper of Delaware, Tammy McIntyre of Front Royal, Jane Grove of Edinburg, and Mildred Cannon of Front Royal; two grandchildren Ronnie Lynn Clegg, Jr. and Courtney Morganne Welch; two great-grandchildren Rylan Dugan, and Harper Dugan, and one on the way Natlie Grace Clegg.

Ronnie was preceded in death along with his parents; one sister Ginger Reardon; two brothers Ulysses Clegg, Jr. and Eddie Lynn Clegg; and one granddaughter Samantha Lynn Clegg.

Ronnie will be viewed and the family will receive friends on Monday, August 1, at their home, 249 Liberty Hall Road, Front Royal, VA throughout the day.
