Rudolph “Rudy” “Frenchie” Joseph Morneault

Rudolph “Rudy” “Frenchie” Joseph Morneault, 82, of Stanley, and formerly of Front Royal, passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2016, in the Inova Fairfax Hospital.

Services will be private.

Mr. Morneault was born on November 2, 1933, in Upper Frenchville, Maine, son of the late Josephel Morneault and Delia Dufour Morneault. He served his country proudly, having served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1952 until 1956. He was a Corporal with the Marine Air Base Sq 16, MHtg 16, 1st Marine Wing in Obama, Fuki, Japan during the Korean War and a Sergeant with the Motor Transport Company, Service Bn, U.S. Marine Corps, Quantico, Virginia from April 1955 to Ocotober 1955. Mr. Morneault remained in Virginia after leaving the Marine Corps. Mr. Morneault owned and operated Morneault’s Plumbing in Front Royal until his retirement. He was a member of the Marine Corps League, Toys for Tots, and the VFW Post 1860 in Front Royal.

Surviving are his loving and devoted wife Alice Ridgeway Morneault; one son Ralph Ridgeway of Middletown; three daughters Faith Smith of Raleigh, North Carolina, Hope Clegg of Front Royal, and Charity Ridgeway of Middletown; twenty-three grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Morneault was preceded in death by his parents; one sister Priscilla Morneault; and by six brothers Joseph, Robert, John, Wilbrod, Rosaire, and Adrien.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Front Royal Baptist Temple.
