Rosalie Virginia Atkins, 85, of Flint Hill, Virginia passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Lynn Care in Front Royal, Virginia.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 West Main Street, Front Royal with Pastor Dan Rogers and Rev. Jim Payne officiating. Burial will follow in Flint Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Atkins was born on November 23, 1930 in Fort Valley, Virginia to the late John D. Clem and Sylvia Fisher Clem.

She retired from the Aileen factory and was a member of Trinity Bretheren Church in Fort Valley. She also attended and served as organist for both the Flint Hill Baptist Church and the Blue Ridge Community Bible Church.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Isaac N. Atkins of Flint Hill: three children, Carol Elaine Johnson (C.B. Jr.) of Sperryville, Virginia, David Nelson Atkins, Sr. (Penny) of Flint Hill, Cathy Ann Ballantyne (Scott) of Warrenton, Virginia; six grandchildren, Mikayla Johnson, Ashley McNeely, Nicole Hanback (Tucker), David Nelson Atkins, Jr. (Ashley), Jacob Ballantyne and Eric Ballantyne and one great granddaughter, Harper Hanback.

Pallbearers will be John Vest, Douglas Nichols, Tucker Hanback, Eddie Williams, Jacob Ballantyne and Jim Didawick.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ralph Markee, Bob Moore, David Nelson Atkins, Jr., C.B. Johnson, Jr., Eddie Noakes, Scott Ballantyne, Roger Atkins and Robert Miloslavich.

The family invites all friends to a reception at the Flint Hill Fire Hall following the burial.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, Flint Hill Baptist Church or Blue Ridge Community Bible Church.
