Freddie Purvis Martin, 85, of Front Royal, VA, died on Saturday, October 29, 2016, in Winchester, VA.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2016 from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home in Front Royal.
Freddie was born March 30, 1931 in Washington, D.C. son of the late Edward Duval Martin and Nettie Frances Purvis Martin. He was United States Marine Corps veteran and retired as owner and operator of Martin’s Auto Body in Herndon, VA. He was a member and past president of the Herndon Lion’s Club, member of Herndon Masonic Lodge 264 where he received his 50 Year pin in 2010. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge, Elks Lodge and was a charter member of the Washington DC Auto Body Association
Surviving are his wife Barbara Martin of Front Royal; one son Bruce Martin of Front Royal; one daughter Kim Fortney and husband Bill of Ashburn, VA; one step-daughter Kim Foster of FL; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son Danny Martin.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 West Cork Street, Winchester, VA 22601.
