Steven Ray Wooddell, Sr., 58, of Front Royal, passed away quietly at his home on Saturday, January 21, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.

Born June 16, 1958, Steve was the son of the late Stanley and Mary Wooddell of Front Royal, VA.

He leaves behind his wife Kimberly Kerns Wines-Wooddell; son, Steven Wooddell, Jr. and his wife Adrienne of Bentonville, VA; son, Joseph Wooddell and his wife Kara, of Front Royal and his grandson Jaxson; stepson, Stephen Nowell of Front Royal; stepdaughters, Ashley Nowell and Brooke Wines, both of Front Royal; and his beloved mother-in-law Phyllis Kerns of Front Royal. He also leaves behind his best friend Brian Scearce of Leesburg, VA and lifelong friend Beth Vaught of Front Royal.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Lynn Wooddell, of Front Royal and his sister Wanda Colton, of Browntown, VA.

Steve was a loving, caring and devoted husband, father and friend. Those who knew him loved his sense of humor and relaxed outlook on life. Always dependable, he was there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. A man of many talents, he exemplified the true meaning of hard work and dedication.

Steve spent his career as an electrician, becoming a Master Electrician in 1986. He was a member of the IBEW Local Union 26 for most of his life. He worked for S. Rock/Estabrook, Truland Service and Schneider Electric International. While working as a Project Manager for Schneider, Steve was given the opportunity to travel all over the world to places that included Hawaii, London, Qatar, Germany, China and Japan.

Family, friends and coworkers are invited to attend a Celebration of Life in Steve’s honor, to be held on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. at the Front Royal Volunteer Fire Department Banquet Hall at 221 Commerce Ave in Front Royal, VA.
