Frank Richard Marvin, 87, of Arlington, Va. passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Warren Memorial Hospital, Front Royal, Va.
Services will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
Mr. Marvin was born on July 5, 1929 in Pittsburgh, Pa. to the late Anthony Mavrinac and Mary Kvaternik Mavrinac. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Christine Marvin Singer.
After graduating Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Pittsburgh, Frank had a distinguished career in the U.S. Government working at the General Services Administration, Department of Interior, and finally as the Director of Management and Finance for the Special Assistant of Consumer Affairs to the President. Frank was also the Director of Catholic Charities with the Arlington Diocese and was a Flight Engineer and Master Mechanic in the U.S. Air Force (Veteran).
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Shirley Phillips Marvin; daughter, Renee Marvin Papadopoulos; son, Frank Marvin; five grandchildren, Lori Kelly, Will Marvin, Luke Marvin, Maya Papadopoulos and Elia Papadopoulos and three great grandchildren; Adrian Denbow, Karma Kelly and Dakota Kelly.
