Lennis F. Russell, 95 departed this life in the early morning of August 10, 2017.

Lennis, who was also affectionately known as “Cheata” was born on June 23, 1922 in Riverton, Virginia to the late William and Bessie Campbell Fuqua. Preceding her in eternal life are her husband, Richard Neville Russell and her son, Richard N. Russell, Jr.

Cheata was a wonderful mother and was dearly loved by her children. Surviving are Julie Russell, Elizabeth Hill (husband Rick) and Mary Robinson (husband David). She was adored and admired by her eight grandchildren, April R. Shipe (husband Dwayne), Neville Patton (wife Angie), Matthew Hill, Amy R. Bodwell (husband Jason), Lesley Hill (Alan), Rebecca Patton, Joshua Robinson (LeAnne), and Amy P. Minor (husband Ramon). Her twelve great grandchildren were the sparkle in her eyes, Zachary Lower, Tanner Foster, Gillian Patton, Nataleigh Lower, Laney Sours, Cameron Patton, Cole Hensley, Elijah Robinson, Brooklyn Minor, Alyssa Robinson, Nev Patton and Violet Graham. She is forever in the heart of her niece Sandra Tette and her family of Rochester NY.

A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday, August 16 in the Northern Fauquier County Community Park, Marshall, Virginia at the Dell Amphitheater at 10:00 am.

Interment will be a private service for her family.
