Harold C. “Bump” Devers, 65, of Front Royal, passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2017, in the Warren Memorial Hospital.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 22, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Maddox Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Clegg officiating. Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Comfort Cemetery in Alexandria.
Bump was born on December 10, 1951, in Alexandria, Virginia, son of the late Albert Devers and Iola Virginia Javins Devers Shirley. He was a member of the Parkinson’s Group.
Surviving are three sisters; Lorretta Mitchell and husband Hop of Stephens City, Linda Compton of Front Royal and Brenda Wickouski of Culpeper; and one brother David Devers of Front Royal.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother Gary “Red” Devers; one sister Pauline Brown; and one nephew Albert Mitchell.
Pallbearers will be Tony Lamb, Freddy Jenkins, Joe Moore, Peanut Moore, Claude Dodson, and Troy Bell.
Honorary pallbearers will be George Gwinn and Walter Knave.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 22, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
