John Austin Deavers, 43, of Front Royal, passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2017, in his home.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 15th at 2:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home conducted by Sammy Campbell. Interment will follow in the Prospect Hill Cemetery.

John was born on July 31, 1974, in Woodstock son of Harry David Deavers, Jr. of Front Royal and Donna K. Smith of Front Royal. He owned and operated his own tree service.

Surviving with his parents are the mother of his children Rebecca Anne Deavers of Front Royal; one son Tyler Austin Deavers of Front Royal; three daughters Kelsey Anne Deavers, Victoria Mae Deavers, and Mary Allison Deavers all of Front Royal; his twin brother James E. Deavers and wife Tammy of Browntown; two sisters Evelyn R. Baggette and husband Tony of Rileyville and Pamela S. Butler and husband Mark of Front Royal; two step-brothers James C. Cox and wife Rita of Luray and Thomas R. Cox of Strasburg; two step-sisters Lisa C. Bull and husband Donald of New Market and Marie M. Martin and husband Todd of Front Royal; two grandsons Cole Austin Deavers and Cohen Arthur Deavers; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

John was preceded in death by one brother Harry David Deavers, III ,a grandson Caine Alexander Deavers and his step-mother Patricia L. Deavers.

Pallbearers will be Russell Racer, Harry Hamm, Jr., James Cox, Thomas Cox, D.J. Henry, and Tony Baggette.

Honorary pallbearer will be Jerald Jones.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 14 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
