James E. Smith, Jr, 78, of Front Royal, VA, died on Friday, October 13, 2017.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 18 at 2:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home.

Mr. Smith was born November 21, 1938 in Washington, D.C. son of the late James E. “Bud” Smith and Shirley Ruth Miller Smith. He retired as a truck driver with VDOT.

Surviving are his wife Helen Smith of Front Royal, VA; one son Stephen Smith and wife Nelda of Corpus Christi, TX; three sisters Sandra Taylor and husband Charles, Sharon Pullen and Shelia Foster all of Front Royal; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
