Eric Alden Reel, 52, of Front Royal, Virginia passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2018, at Winchester Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Bennett’s Chapel United Methodist Church with The Rev. Sherry Waddell officiating. Burial will follow in the Reel Family Cemetery.
Mr. Reel was born July 18, 1966, in Front Royal to the late Alfred G. Reel, Sr. and Lena Mae Williams Reel. He was also predeceased by his sister Wanda Crawford.
Survivors include his sister Thelma R. Ring (Bruce) of Front Royal; two brothers Alfred G. Reel, Jr. (Nancy) of Front Royal and Derek A. Reel (Sharon) of Milwaukee, Oregon; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Pallbearers will be Randy Almarode, Doug Embrey, Michael Moore, David Poe, Shane Ring, and Wyatt Spiker.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 2, 2019, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 W. Main Street, Front Royal.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in Eric’s memory.

Eric and I always joked, we would be friends until the end; but I never thought the end was going to be this soon. I will forever miss my crazy friend; and today, Christmas Eve 2020, several days before the anniversary of his death — I’m missing him more than ever.
