Betty Jean Blake, 79, of Front Royal, Virginia passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Blue Ridge Hospice Inpatient Care Center.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 18, 2019 at 1 PM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 120 West Main Street, Front Royal. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Blake was born on September 5, 1939 in Warren County, Virginia to the late Howard and Reba Rose Lockhart. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William C. Blake and her sister, Roberta “Bobbi” Hibbs. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
Survivors include her three sons, Denny Blake (Susie) of Front Royal, Jeffrey Blake (Shari) of Front Royal, Michael Blake of Davenport, Iowa; daughter, Laura Mitchell (Doug) of Berryville, Virginia; 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and one great great grandson.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 17,2018 from 6 to 8 PM at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 West Main Street, Front Royal.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 West Cork Street, Winchester, Virginia 22601.

There are no words that can give you complete comfort. Betty was a special lady whom I enjoyed talking with. The only comfort I can give is she is with your dad Bill and other family having a grand ole time. Heaven gained another angel.

I am very saddened to hear of the passing of Betty. I worked with Betty for a number of years at BOCC. Without question, Betty was one of the most hard working and dedicated co-workers I have ever had the pleasure of working with.

I am very sorry for your loss! I emailed to Betty just before Christmas and will be forever grateful she was able to reply…she had said she was in hospice care…and they were so food and kind to her…I’m very glad she found good care and comfort in them. I lost my Uncle in June and they were truly wonderful to him.
I am sorry I was unable to attend and visit with you all, but want you to know I am praying for your comfort and peace…
