Sadie was the biggest black man I have ever seen! Like his size was he was bigger than life. What struck me as a child growing up in Front Royal was how he was always actively engaged with black youth, particularly in the arena of sports and music. I did have the opportunity to play basketball with him, and his mere presence was an honor. Rest peaceful my brother you will be missed!
To the Brook’s family you are in my thoughts and prayer. He will be missed tremendously and loved always; I called him my gentle giant. Growing up on Park View Dr. he was more of a father figure whom pushed me to reach for the stars. Then, when getting of age and being able to take behind the wheel, he took me out in the car to get my license. That will be a day. I will never forget task at hand at first I feared parallel parking but he said you’re driving up Blue Ridge Ave. that street was full of cars on both sides I conquered my fear all on that street. He believed in me. Rest in heavenly peace my friend ❤️🕊️
Another member of our graduation class of 1959 (Manassas Regional High School) has gone from labor to reward. “Carl Stanley Alexander Brooks, Jr. III” as he frequently announced himself, was a talented and fun-filled individual! He was an ideal classmate. So on behalf of the remaining members of our class, we say thanks for the memories and “Vaya con Dios”, our friend!
Our condolences to Dot and the family from John, Angela and me! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Sure loved that man. He had it all.
When he came to my office house there was music and singing.
We knew he was here…. Beautiful music coming from the living room.
He left too soon. GOD needed him. He will always be in my heart.

To the Brooks family, Sadie will be missed at macedonia but his legacy will always be in that church along with teaching the young people all about music! Thanks to Dot and her family for sharing her wonderful husband with our youth and macedonia family, he will greatly be missed!!!!!
Mr. Sadie was such a nice man. He always had a smile and a kind word when he delivered the Pony mail to LFK.
I knew Sadie for many years. Kind and generous. Prayers to the family
My deepest condolences to the family. I remember Sadie’s smile and kindness when I was growing up in Front Royal.
I met Sadie when I was a child living on 7th Street. He lived behind in a house behind ours. Then when I got older I would see him at the Jewel Box, he was at DMV the day I got my permit. I worked for school transportation, my car was parked beside his,so we chatted as we got ready to leave the lot. He has always been a kind gentleman. God blessed him musicly, I loved listening to his church choir he was in. I know it has been a few years since he passed, I just happened to see this while looking for someone else. Prayers for his family.
