Aiden William Thompson

Aiden William Thompson, 19, of Front Royal, Virginia passed away on September 11, 2025 at University of Virginia Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held for Aiden at 1 P.M. on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 W Main St, Front Royal with Sammy Campbell officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025 at Maddox Funeral Home from 6-8 P.M. Following the service a private burial will take place at Prospect Hill Cemetery.

Aiden was born on July 23, 2006 in Winchester, Virginia to Mr. Claude O. Thompson and Betty A. Leidy Thompson.

Surviving along with his parents are his siblings, Seira Thompson, and Darick Thompson; his cousins, Shaun Thompson, and Brayden Thompson; his special companion, Abbey his Chocolate Lab; and many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, special teachers, and close friends (too many to list).

Aiden was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Linda Thompson, Don and Barbara Gurney, and Lester and Alda Leidy.

Aiden graduated from Warren County High School in March of 2024 in a special ceremony. His first sports were Taekwondo- where he achieved his green belt, youth baseball, youth basketball, and flag and tackle football in parks and recreation. Once he got to high school his preferred sport was basketball.

Aiden loved to fish in his earlier years, loved to draw in his early teen years, enjoyed working on his dream car, listening to and creating music, and loved video games. He celebrated obtaining his drivers license when he turned 16.

Pallbearers will be Shaun Thompson, Darick Thompson, Keandre Hogue, Jadyn Jeffries, Joseph Thompson and Brayden Heflin.

Honorary pallbearers will be Russell Tharp, Kenneth Sours, Christopher Fiyn and Sam Rock.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Warren County Humane Society at 1245 Progress Dr, Front Royal, VA 22630 and to Maddox Funeral Home to assist the family with services.

    My deepest condolences to the Thompson family for the loss of Aiden. May Jehovah the God of comfort help you and your family through these difficult times. Keeping those happy memories that you shared will sustain you until you see him again..Betty we only spoke a few times when I came to the center on Tuesdays, but I could tell you were a loving devoted mother and did all you could to care for Aiden.

    Aiden — courage finds its truest form in you. You carried a long, heavy battle and met it head-on, never losing the light that makes you who you are. I am blessed to witness your strength. You will always be an inspiration to all of us. We love you and will miss you always.
