Amy Warlick Hartley, 50, of Front Royal, passed away on August 11, 2017. Amy was born in Charlotte, North Carolina to the late Mr. Roger Dean Warlick, and Mrs. Cecilia Wise Denton. She attained her undergraduate degree from Appalachian State University and graduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She was married to Mr. W. Craig Hartley Jr., in 1989 and is the mother to their children, Mr. Trevor Spencer Hartley and Ms. Emma Kaitlin Hartley, all of Front Royal, Virginia.
Amy dedicated her professional life to the support of students as a school counselor, working in Guilford County, North Carolina, as well as Goochland and Warren Counties, Virginia. She took great pride in contributing to the success of students and watching them mature into adulthood. She was proud to have been a member of Kappa Delta Sorority and the Goochland Women’s Club. Amy enjoyed encouraging high school students to become involved in similar organizations and during her career served as staff liaison to a number of philanthropic organizations, such as the Rotary Club.
In addition to her husband, children and mother, she is survived by her sister Lori Warlick Redmond, of Rural Hall, North Carolina and brother Jeremy “Chip” Warlick, of Six Mile, South Carolina.
A Celebration of Life will be held on August 19, 2017, at 2:00 PM, at Warren County High School, located at 155 Westminster Drive Front Royal, Virginia, 22630. Arrangements are being coordinated by Maddox Funeral Home, located at 105 West Main Street Front Royal, VA 22630. Although Amy has asked for donations to the charities identified below be made in lieu of flowers, those preferring to send flowers may send them to the funeral home, and they will be delivered to the service site.
Because of her belief in the importance of the child, Amy has asked that memorial donations be made to the Children’s Hospital Foundation, Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU, 2924 Brook Road, Richmond, Virginia 23220 or the Rotary Club of Front Royal, Virginia Scholarship Fund, 111 Hospitality Drive; P.O.
