Arlene Patricia Gyde Deaton of Strasburg, VA, formerly of Brighton, MI, passed away on Friday, October 20, 2017.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Michigan.

Ms. Deaton was born May 27, 1933 in Gregory, MI, daughter of the late Merivel and Mildred Wilson Gyde. She retired from Bixby Hospital in Adrian, MI.

She was an avid gardener and quilter and enjoyed reading and spending time with family and friends.

Surviving are her children Barbara Giannotti and husband Daniel of Pinckney, MI, Robert Deaton and wife Debbie of MI, Nancy Sager and husband John of Woodstock, VA, and Millie Andrews and husband Ronnie of Front Royal, VA; brothers and sisters Shirley Lancaster and husband Tom of Chelsea, MI, Jeanette Morgan of Howell, MI, Kathryn Wixom of Gobles, MI and Larry Gyde and wife Candy of Pinckney, MI; ten grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
