Barbara J. “Sis” Johnson, 77, of Fort Valley, Virginia passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2026 in the comfort of her home.

A graveside service will take place at 11:30 AM on Thursday, May 14, 2026 at Stafford Memorial Park, 154 Shelton Shop Road, Stafford, Virginia 22554. There will be a time of visitation the night prior from 5-7 PM at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 W Main Street, Front Royal, Virginia, 22630.

Sis was born on April 3, 1949 in Fauquier Hospital to the late, Lawrence William and Jessie Marie Sutphin Embrey. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Lawrence William Embrey Jr.

Surviving Sis is her loving husband of 59 years, David Ellis Johnson; her children, Vicky Lynn Long and David Dwight Johnson; her brother, Richard Lee Embrey (Sharon); and her grandchildren, Gage Alexander Carter, Blake Austin Carter, and Madison Nicole Long.
