Barbara Jean Miller, 76, of Front Royal, VA passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on Sunday, December 17, 2017.
Barbara was born on June 8, 1941 in Chicago, IL to Robert and Mary Freeburn. After completing her education, Barbara joined the United States Air Force where she served with honor. During her professional career, Barbara served as a presidential appointee at NASA, as well as serving in various executive level positions within the aerospace industry.
In addition to her commitment to faith, Barbara was a proud grandmother. She spent her time focused on her family and friends. Barbara was a member of the Front Royal United Methodist Church.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mary and the love of her life, her husband, Wilmer Miller.
Barbara is survived by her loving and devoted son, Stephen Braddock; her son-in-law, Richard Braddock; her grandson, Dylan Braddock; her loving niece and nephew-in-law, Mary and Dennis Sandelski; her sister, Dorothy Eggebrecht; her great nephews, Graham (her godson) and Quinn Sandelski; her great niece, Morgan Sandelski; her in-laws, Maxine and Cecil Braddock; as well as loving extended family too numerous to list.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Barbara’s friends: Darlene Siciliano; Ethel Doyle; Barbara Robinson; and Linda Everett, who loved and supported her in life and especially during her passing. In addition, the family wishes to thank Heartland Hospice for its help during this difficult time.
A celebration of Barbara’s life will take place on Friday, January 12, 2018 at 7 p.m. at the Maddox Funeral Home Chapel. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 2 p.m. at the Front Royal United Methodist Church in Front Royal, VA. The family will receive friends and family at their home following the service.
