Blanch DayBlanch Spitler Riley Day, 79, of Front Royal passed away on Monday, June 22, 2015, in her home.

A funeral service will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Maddox Funeral Home conducted by Chaplain Jack Keep. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Day was born October 14, 1935, in Loudoun County, Virginia, daughter of the late Clarence and Pauline Spiker Spitler. She was married to the late Ervin Ray “John” Day. She loved animals and country music.

She is survived by her children William Donald Riley, Sr. of Stanley, Barbara Jane Riley of Front Royal, Shirley Ann Henry of Front Royal, Mary Catherine Riley of Front Royal, David Allen Riley, Sr. of Front Royal, and Vicky Lynn Pineda of Front Royal and her husband Edward; her step-children Kenny Day, Stephen Day, Johnathan Day, and Tommy Day; her brother Roy Spitler; two sisters Posie Kerns and Emilou Good; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Ruth Hammond, a grandson Chuckie Deavers; a great-grandson Jaried Henry; and siblings Ruth Funk, Charles Spitler, Lucy Miller, Rosie Spitler, Annie Drummonds, and Marie Spitler.

Pallbearers will be Lance Ford, Cody Matthews, Christopher Deavers, Colt Wood, Edward Pineda, Lester Moore, and David Santmyers.

Honorary pallbearers will be all of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and Jessica Day.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
