Brenda Lee Sutphin, 51, of Front Royal, Virginia passed away on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Winchester Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 29, 2018 at 2 PM at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 West Main Street, Front Royal with Sammy Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Masonic Cemetery.
Brenda was born on December 23, 1966 in Winchester, Virginia to the late Charles Edward Sutphin, Sr. and Ann Lee Sutphin. Brenda held childlike enjoyment and love of Special Olympics, playing the guitar, music, coloring and basketball. She was young in both mind and heart.
Survivors include her two brothers, Charles E. Sutphin, Jr. (Donna) of Front Royal and Maury A. Sutphin (Dorothy) of Slanesville, West Virginia; three nieces, LeAnn Peddle, Melanie Sutphin and Hannah Sutphin and three nephews, Mitchell Sutphin, Michael Sutphin and Tyler Smelser.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 28, 2018 from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be George Lee, Bryant Lee, Patrick Lee, John Lee, Michael Sutphin and Joe Herbert.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Lynwood Smelser, John Peddle, Dale Welch, Juanita Burchfield, Jacob McDowel, Tashina Richards and Dana Rogerson.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Area 13 Special Olympics, PO Box 4062 Winchester, VA 22604.

Brenda was a wonderful girl and I enjoyed talking to her and taking care of her when I worked for ResCare. she always had a smile and enjoyed doing things of coloring, talking and she always told me she could play a guitar, but never had the chance to hear her….she will be missed by all that knew her…rest in rest my Brenda and you are in God’s hand now and never will be sick again and you won’t have to use the walker anymore
