Catherine Elaine Maddox, 63, of Front Royal, Virginia, died Friday, January 9, 2015, in the Blue Ridge Hospice Inpatient Care Center in Winchester.
A funeral service will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home conducted by The Rev. Frederick R. Trumbore. Burial will be private.
Cathy was born May 7, 1951, in Front Royal, daughter of Charles Raymond Maddox, Jr. and Elaine Barraclough Maddox. She graduated from Warren County High School in 1969. She attended the Cappa Chell School of Modeling in Washington, D.C. and became a model for Miller & Rhodes and Thalhimers in Richmond. She was a secretary for the legal office of Gulf & Western, Inc. at the Watergate in Washington, D.C. in 1971. She was a flight attendant for American Airlines in New York City in 1973. She then attended the Weiss-Barron School of Television and Commercial Speech and the Ford Modeling Agency. She was a representative for Estee Lauder at Garfinkel’s Department Store in Washington, D.C. Since 1994 she worked in the over-the-road transportation industry as a long haul truck driver. She was an active member of the Humane Society of the United States since 2010.
Surviving are her three brothers Charles E. Maddox and his wife Martha, Arthur R. Maddox and his wife Sharon, and William G. Maddox and his wife Brenda; her nieces and nephews Kyle, Mary, Laura, Joseph, and Perry; seven great nieces and nephews; and her aunt and uncle Betty Belle and Doug Leckie.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
