Claudette Gray Yowell, 77, of Front Royal, Virginia passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Heritage Hall Nursing Home.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at 11 AM at Prospect Hill Cemetery, 200 West Prospect Street, Front Royal with Sammy Campbell officiating.

Mrs. Yowell was born on August 10, 1941 in Front Royal to the late Joseph Edward and Lennis Ramey Johnson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Richard “Dickie” Yowell; step son, Richard H. Yowell and two sisters, Joanne Goff and Lena Mitchell.

She attended Marlow Heights Baptist Church and was a member of Women of the Moose and the American Legion.

Survivors include her son, Kenneth Alan Evans (Donna) of Front Royal; two daughters, Joyce Burke and Jane Burke both of Front Royal; step daughter, Liza Yowell of North Carolina; two sisters, Frances Woodward of Strasburg, Virginia and Joyce Lucas of North Carolina and seven grandchildren, Parker, Jack, Libby, Lauren, Bailey, Madison and Kenny Jr.
