Copthorne Cardell Fitzhugh, 70, passed away on Sunday May 9, 2021 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, West Virginia.

Copthrone was born in Front Royal, Virginia, on May 13, 1950 to the late James Giles and Joanne Fitzhugh. Mr. Fitzhugh went on to serve in the United States Marine Corps from 1972-1976. He also worked many years as an arborist for Pittman Tree Company in Front Royal, Virginia.

Surviving Mr. Fitzhugh are daughters Sheri Brent and Shanta Pittman both of Front Royal, Virginia; stepson Javar Pittman of Hagerstown, Maryland.

Mr. Fitzhugh is preceded in death by his wife Joanne Fitzhugh.

The family will have a private service at Good Hope Cemetery on Happy Creek Road.

Arrangements are being handled by Maddox Funeral Home in Front Royal, Virginia.
