Donald Anthony Bailey was received into heaven on July 26, 2024.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 1 at 11:00 a.m. at Maddox Funeral Home with Sammy Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in Willis Chapel Cemetery at Huntly.
Donnie was born to Archie, Jr. and Betty Jane Bailey on May 17, 1959 and remained a life-long resident of Front Royal.
Donnie graduated from Warren County High School in 1978 and began his career with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) in 1979. Through those years it was common to find him under a car with his dad, who was a mechanic.
Donnie had a love for fast machines, especially Mopars. He also had a love for his devoted wife, Robin. They grew up together in the same neighborhood and as the years went by, they became inseparable.
Even now, their souls will forever remain connected.
Donnie was preceded in death by his mother and father; his sister, Wanda and her husband Rick and their son, Samuel.
He is survived by his loving wife, Robin; two brothers, Archie Bailey, III and wife Geraldine of Sperryville and Daniel Bailey and wife Machelle of Sperryville; nephews and nieces, James Bailey, Ben Will, Macy and Jacklyn Montgomery, Chris, Dean and Matt Payne; sister-in-law, Vicky Elkins Wood; brother-in-law, Bobby Elkins; and many other caring extended family members.
The family would also like to recognize Heidi and Jeff Jacobs for their deep friendship throughout the years.
Donnie gave others the impression he had a tough personality, but to those who knew him best, really knew he had a soft heart. Just ask the many stray cats he would feed each day on the front porch with bowls of food and kitty treats. He was an undercover softie.
We will miss you so, Donnie.
Matthew 6:21 “For where your treasure is, your heart will be also.”
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 1 from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Sincerely sending my condolences and prayers for all.
