Ervin L. Sheldon, 95, of Luray, Virginia passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at Warren Memorial Hospital one week away from his 96th birthday surrounded by his wife and four children.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 20, 2018 at 1:30 PM at Page United Methodist Church, 1062 Springfield Road, Luray where he was a member.

Mr. Sheldon was born on July 24, 1922 in Turner, Michigan to the late Fred and Lovern Heiermann Sheldon. He was also preceded in death by his four brothers. He was an Army Ranger with the 1st Battallion “Darby’s Rangers” during WWII and received the Silver Star and Purple Heart Medals.

Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Truey Sheldon, four children, one sister, six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
