Frances “Frannie” Ann Wines

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Frances “Frannie” Ann Wines, who left us peacefully in her home on March 22, 2025, at the age of 85.

Frannie was born on September 23, 1939, in Winchester, Virginia, to the late Mary Virginia Martin and James Thorton Bolton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Franklin Wines, and ten of her siblings, who she missed deeply.

Frannie was the heart and soul of our family, the matriarch who defined strength, love, and resilience. As a mother, she was the steady anchor to her daughters, Brandy Alexandria Wines and Terry Denny Cupp (Robert), showing unwavering devotion and admiration. As a grandmother, she provided Breelyn Romer-Wines, Jamison Will (Harry), and Britt Cupp with a love that was as deep as it was enduring. Her love expanded even further to her great-grandchildren, Ellison Olinger, Anderson Olinger, and Pierson Will, showing them her creative and playful spirit. As a sister, she was fun loving and supportive to her siblings, Jim Bolton, John Bolton, and Susan Williams, and they had an enduring bond.

Frannie was a force of nature—a woman of remarkable strength and vitality who lived life with an open heart. She was not just a wife, mother, homemaker, and manager; she was the glue that held us all together. A listener, a supporter, and a fierce advocate for those she loved, she created a home full of warmth, laughter, and cherished memories. Her dedication to her family was unparalleled, and her commitment to creating joy in everyday moments was her gift to all who knew her. Whether it was through fun-filled trips to the beach, lively games of cards, or energetic rounds of bowling, Frannie was always the one to bring people together, making life an adventure.

Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she touched. Every child, grandchild, and great-grandchild knew that they were loved unconditionally by her—Frannie’s love was fierce, steadfast, and ever-present. As the cornerstone of our family, she will always be remembered not only for the joy she gave us but for the strength she imparted.

Frannie worked her entire life to build a home, a family, and a life full of love. Her memory will continue to inspire us all to live with the same heart, passion, and zest that she did.

Frannie, you were, and always will be, the foundation of our family.

A celebration of life will be held on April 12th, 2025 from 3:00-6:00 pm at the Rivermont Fire Department in Front Royal, VA 22630.

My heartfelt condolences to the family. I am so sorry for your loss. I had the pleasure of visiting with Frannie numerous times over the last 20 years to play cards and visit with her while visiting my niece, Breelyn. I know Frannie will be sorely missed. May the family find peace and comfort during this difficult time.
